Indian-American musician and entrepreneur Chandrika Tandon has won the award in the ‘Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album’ category at the 67th Grammy Awards for her album ‘Triveni’. In this album, she has collaborated with South African flutist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto.
Chandrika Tandon was born in 1954 in a Tamil Brahmin family in Chennai. She has studied from IIM Ahmedabad and has been the first Indian-American female partner at McKinsey. She is the elder sister of former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi.
Her passion for music has made her well versed in Hindustani, Carnatic and Western music. Her debut album ‘Soul Call’ was released in 2009, which was nominated for a Grammy.
After winning the Grammy Award, Chandrika Tandon called it a great experience and said that all the nominated musicians are very brilliant. She expressed gratitude for the support of her fans.
The Consulate General of India in New York has also congratulated Chandrika Tandon on her achievement.
